The tank was inflatable. So was the rest of the army.

About 1,100 American soldiers fought the final year of the war in Europe without trying to win a single firefight.
Their weapons were inflatable tanks, trucks playing recorded sound, and radio traffic for divisions that were not there.
They staged some twenty deceptions across France, Luxembourg, Belgium and Germany.

Their biggest came between March 18 and 24, 1945: a fake crossing of the Rhine, built from more than 600 inflatable vehicles, recorded construction and artillery, and invented
radio networks, set up away from where the real crossing would happen.

It stayed secret for more than fifty years. The file wasdeclassified in 1996. In 2024 the unit received the Congressional Gold Medal.

A Length

Begin at the collar on the top (high point shoulder) and draw the measuring tape down to the garment's bottom.

B Width

Start the measurement at the seam right below one sleeve and extend the tape across to the seam underneath the opposite sleeve.

C Sleeve length

Position the tape at the top of the set-in sleeve and extend it down to the sleeve's hem.
